When did your fascination for jewelry start? My fascination for jewelry has been an on going journey since the start of 2000. This is when I started travelling more and more abroad. On my travels I was exposed to so much cool jewelry both for womans but also men. This led to a fascination of the jewelry industry. So when I started discussing the Kolour's Jewelry concept with my Danish partner Ann Sindlev I felt this fascination had turned into a great business plan.

What inspired you to launch Kolour's Jewelry ?  I travel about 250 days a year outside scandinavia. On these journeys I started to see jewelry becoming more and more important in fashion store around the world. And also noticed girls embracing jewelry as part of their style. So I felt there was a gap in the market here in Scandinavia for a fashion fine jewelry brand like Kolour's Jewelry. So thats how the idea and concept started.

Why diamonds in colors? One of the biggest trends over the last 3 years in lifestyle and fashion has been colours. If it is a crazy coloured Hermes bags or acc in general, luxury cars, phone covers etc in all kind of colours and funky materials. Seeing this trend kicking off I felt that it would also reach the fine jewelry industry very soon. I started working on this Kolour's Jewelry concept back in 2013. Funny enough now in 2016 all the biggest fine jewelry brands are focusing more and more on coloured diamonds and Gem Stones.

Kolours is influenced by the minimal and subtle Scandinavian design tradition - tell us about the vision. The vision was how to get Scandinavian girls to stack fine jewelry and diamonds without becoming to much and tacky. For this reason we skipped white diamonds in our collection. As we wanted a more subtle look and that our customers could really express their personal style with choosing to mix our jewelry with their excisting jewelry.

And all items are unisex right? At the moment only the bracelets are unisex. We are also launching a new line within our concept. Its called Charms by Kolour's Jewelry. Its all charms in solid 14 k gold that can be styled either on bracelets or necklaces. These styles will add more into our unisex collection. We are also for spring 16 launching solid gold bracelets which is designed more for this concept.

Your idea is all about stacking jewelry- can you tell us the best way to wear your jewelry / is personal and individual style the key?  For me its all about mixing new, vintage and unexpensive jewelry together. I love the idea of buying a 5 euro bracelet at a hippie market, wearing together with something you got from your grandmother and then add some Kolour's Jewelry pieces next to this stack. Every style from our collection is offered in 20 different colour combinations which means as a customer you can really create something personal and unique when it comes to matching your identity or favorite colours.

Can men stack as many as Women?  Men can for sure rock as many bracelets as girls. Its all about finding a balance, which is for me mixing materials and price points so it doesnt look to over the top.

Where are the diamonds from, can we be sure the jewelry is 100% protecting human rights - Ttell us about your protecting human rights#/guarantee / fairtrade Yes our supplier has all the fairtrade certificats which is a must in this industry.

Where do you collect your everyday inspiration?  My everyday inspiration comes from all my travels. I feel so privileged that I have the chance to travel as much as i do. This way I can really experience and see with my own eyes trends, styles, cultures and people all around the world. This is my biggest inspiration.

Do you have any favorite jewelry you wear every day? I have been so lucky to try out some of our Charms by Kolour's Jewelry prototypes. These 4 bracelets have never been taken off since August. I also try to rock my stackable concept everyday. This stack is exactly what I explained before its a good mix of Kolour's Jewelry, unexpensive and vintage bracelets.

Is there anyone in particular you would like to see wearing Kolours jewelry?  You know what, there is actually no one specific I am dying to see wearing Kolour's Jewelry. For me this is really about trying to create something that appeal to everyone. This is why we have price points and design from 300 to 12.000 euros.

What is style for you? Style for me is someone who can really put together a cool look by mixing new, vintage and unexpensive clothes, acc and jewelry. That is true style for me.

Do you by any chance remember Your first jewelry? In the late 90s I was obsessed with indian culture and design. I bought my first original Indian silver bracelet in London Portobello Road back then.

What trends, for fashion & jewelry do you believe in for the next season? For me the biggest trend is colours. I think we are moving into a fase in both fashion and jewelry that customers truly wants something more colorful and special. We have over the last decade seen so much Black, White and grey in the fashion industry and for the jewelry industry a lot of silver and typical white diamonds jewelry. I now feel people are ready for colours and to express their individuality.

And what colours is your personal favorite from Kolour's Jewelry? For me it is Yellow gold with Green diamonds. Green diamonds feels fresh and special. I have not seen any brands with this colour in their collections.

Where can we buy Kolours? At the moment we are focusing on Scandinavia. So for Spring 2016 you will find it in stores like David Andersen, Høyer Luxury, Icon and Bolina in Norway. Lot 29, OZ, Trois Pommes, Happel and Utzon in Denmark. Nathalie Schuterman in Sweden.

The jewelry are a bit pricey, so where to we start if we cant afford the most expensive ones? The collection is designed in a way that you can get a lot of the styles with out diamonds. This of course helps on the prices. We have also chosen to sell our earings single. This way you can buy one earings for around 300 euros with diamonds. In April we are shipping our new concept Charms by Kolour's Jewelry, which will have a starting price point on around 220 euros for bracelets with a solid 14 k gold charms. With this new collection I feel we will have something for every style and every budget.
