- I would like to be more provocative

Who: Stella Monique Vaage (Stella Moniq)

What: Fashion Editor, blogger, model

Where: Spoon Agency, stellamoniq.tumblr.com,

instagram: @stellamoniq

Its all about balance, says Stella Monique Vaage.  I would even like to be a bit more provocative, but I´ve noticed what my followers like and don´t like, so I try not to be too edgy. Be inspired by her cool style and check out Stellas favorite places to go in Oslo.

What is style to you? Balance is a word that describes style for me. Anyone can follow a trend, but to truly have style I think you have to have an intelligent balance between pieces from the current fashion trends and pieces that describe you as a person.

Where do you collect your inspiration? Other than using catwalk reports and street style blogs as style inspiration, I get a lot of my inspiration from music. I think it´s pretty apparent in my outfits and style that I´m really influenced by rock music.

When did your interest for fashion start? When I was a teenager I discovered my love for rock and punk music, and I wanted to dress like a chic punk girl. The local newspaper did a piece on my style, and that´s when I discovered how cool fashion is and that I could use it as a way to display my individuality and personality.

How did you get into the business? I started doing some small modeling jobs when I was still in high school and really enjoyed trying on all the different clothes and looks, but it wasn´t until I landed an internship in a Norwegian fashion magazine and I got to write about fashion that I discovered that I loved it enough to make a career out of it.

Your key item for the season- and how to style it? I´ve been really into street wear with oversized hoodies and bomber jackets the last seasons, and I´m not quite ready to give up on my hoodies just yet. This season, however, I´m going to wear it under a floor duster coat. Long coats are really big this upcoming season and I´m going to invest in both a light colored and dark colored one.

In what way does your mood affect the way you dress? I generally like to dress comfortable, and that´s why I´m a big fan of the current street wear trend. But if I feel down or tired I spend some extra minutes getting ready in the morning because I always feel good if I look good.

Dress up or dress down? Dress down, for sure. Even when I´m going to a formal or dressy event, I combine pretty and feminine pieces with something oversized and comfortable. For example a sexy, lacy skirt under an oversized T-shirt. But I almost always wear heels.

Do you have any limit what to post and what not to post on Instagram? I like to approach fashion in a humoristic and maybe a tiny bit of a rude manner. My personality is pretty straight forward and laid-back and I like to show that on my Instagram, so to me I there´s not much that´s too provocative and rude to post. I would even like to be a bit more provocative, but I´ve noticed what my followers like and don´t like, so I try not to be too edgy.

If you have to chose only 5 items in your closet- what would that be? An oversized hoodie, cropped jeans, biker jacket, a pair of killer heels and a vintage T-shirt.

What trends and colors do you believe in for AW16? I can´t wait for the upcoming seasons heavy materials in velvet and wool, and I´m, in love with the deep red and purple and light brown and pink colors I´ve seen on several of the catwalk shows. I´m also super excited that the summer´s off shoulder trend is continuing this fall, but with a turtleneck layer underneath.

Top 3 norwegian designers to keep our eyes on? Keep an eye on the Norwegian brands byMagMaLou, Christina Ledang and Fall Winter Spring Summer this season. I have high expectations for what they will showcase on the runway this upcoming fashion week in Oslo.

Where do you get your coffee in Oslo? I usually just stop by my local Stockfleth´s in the Old City in Oslo, but if I´m really going out to enjoy a cup of amazing coffee, I take the trip to Tim Wendelboe in Grünerløkka. They have the best cortado in town.

Where to eat in Oslo? Pjoltergeist is the coolest restaurant in Oslo. They serve the best gourmet food on children plates while hip hop is blasting from the speakers. If you order the wine menu that goes with the food you´re in for a treat.

Where would you recommend people to visit in Oslo? Everyone coming to Oslo should definitely have dinner at Pjoltergeist. The new shopping street outside the Steen og Strøm shopping center is great for some luxury shopping and should be followed by a snack at the food court inside the shopping center. Other than that the Astrup Fearnley museum has great contemporary art and the area around Youngstorget has the best bars.

Must visist store? - I love vintage T-shirts and hoodies, so I would recommend people visiting Oslo to stop by Velouria Vintage in Grünerløkka.
