What is style to you? Style is either something you are "born with" or something you gather from all your weird and funny experiences like people, places and whatever floats around in your head. You either have it, or you don't. I've tried to get a new style several times, but it didn't work. So I'm not sure if I have one. Doesn't matter.
Where do you collect your inspiration? Mostly old fashion photography and videos, old movies and sometimes interesting people. It doesn't always have to be fashion related. I like to interpret on my own.
When did your interest for norwegian design start? When I was finished with my study, actually. We taught everything about international fashion, but almost nothing about norwegian. So when I started working, I started digging for up and coming designers (I still do), and I have followed all of them since then. It´s almost three years ago, and watching people grow on their work is really inspiring. I will always back up norwegian design. We´re getting better and better.
Your key item for fall- and how to style it A very big and soft knit. In like four sizes bigger than my usual. If I don't want to look like a filled potato sack, I put on a belt. And if it's really cold I put on a huge poncho over the knit. Then the potato sack is back on, except now I look more like a viking. A potato sack viking.
In what way does your mood affect the way you dress? In every way. Ha ha.. There are only a few occasions where I pick the outfit before I go to bed and that's if I have an early flight. Because I know myself. You know, some days I can stand and just stare into the closet for half an hour. My boyfriend never get that. So after the thirty minutes I need a break, and after the break I irritably try on twenty different outfits until I go for black. It's not a problem it's a disease.
Dress up or dress down? Dress up, because why not
If you have to chose 5 items in your closet- what would that be? A vintage blazer with golden details from NYC, wool culottes from HAiK, silk kimono from Stine Goya, a really tired blue towel-ish sweater from H&M Conscious a few years ago, grandmas wedding dress and one of my leather skirts (doesn't matter which one). Wow, that was random.
What trends and colors do you believe in for AW16? I always believe in green, in any season, so deep tones for fall. Also dusty pink, deep orange and red. And earth-tones. Always a classic. And black. Ofc. I like the extra long sleeve thing that's been going on a while now. Not very handy, but I feel like a little child in them. It's also a good excuse for not doing anything; "Oh no, sorry, I can't pick up the mess I made because I don't have any hands". Also weird ways to hold your bag is a trend this fall. Just saying.
Top 3 norwegian designers to keep our eyes on? Frank Remme for everyday lux, HAiK for the weirdness and Anne Karine Thorbjørnsen for styling and uniqueness. Picking three is hard.
