You are only 15 years old, when did your fascination for style and fashion started? I have always had a fascination for style and fashion. As a kid I loved dressing up and wearing nice clothes, but I think it really kicked in when I was about ten or eleven. It all started with me cutting my hair in a Rihanna style "side cut" type of hairstyle and then my style grew from there.
Did you have any styleicons back then? One of my fashion icons back then was definitely Rihanna. I remembered really liking her modern punk rock sort of style. I would also say that Lady Gaga had a big influence on my style. I first discovered her when I was about seven years old and from there she has always been my favorite pop icon. Back then I had not discovered designers and blogs and things like that, so for inspiration I would just look at my favorite artist.
You have been one of the editors of Recens paper when It first released, how did you get to know the creative collective behind the magazine? I first got to know Elise (the editor in chef) through Instagram. I discovered her page and I just loved her style and aesthetics. So we started following each other, and then she contacted me and asked if I wanted to be apart of Recens and I of course said yes. I have so much respect and admiration for Elise and what she has accomplished, and she is without a doubt one of the most hard working and kindest people I have ever met.
Where did you grow up? I grew up/live in Fredrikstad, which is a city one hour away from Oslo. It is a quite "okey sized" city I would say, and I think it is great for what it is. But I could definitely not imagine living the rest of my life here, I would like to live in a bigger city some day.
Has your hometown inspired your style, or tell us how it is to grow up in a small city with your passion for fashion?I wouldn’t really say that my hometown has influenced my style in any shape or form, and I have never had any problems with dressing the way I dress either. I have gotten looks over the years (both positive and negative), but I have never felt «bullied» for the way that I look.
Do you remember your first statement piece in your wardrobe? I don`t think I remember my exact first statement piece. I did use to wear really brightly colored pants, like I had every color pants one could imagine. So I guess that was kinda statement, but my style was much more unique and colorful when I was younger.
When did you first buy a designer outfit? My first designer item was a secondhand knitted Acne Studios sweater, but thats not really exciting. My first designer bag was a Alexander Wang Rocco, that I bought when I was thirteen and it is one of wardrobe favorites. After I bought that bag my fascination for designer handbags just grew and now I think that the handbag is one of my favorite parts of any outfit.
What is style for you?Style to me is a way of expression and a way of living. Someone who has style is someone who knows what they like and knows how to wear it. It is all about confidence and knowing yourself I think.
What inspires you the most, and where do you get your inspiration? Like most people I find my inspiration through the internet, social media and magazines. I have a Tumblr blog (theboythatsaidtoomuch.tumblr.com) where I collect things I find inspiring, funny or just beautiful. I also look at magazines like Styleby, Nytt Rom, Love Magazine and Dazed and Confused. Instagram is also where I find a lot of inspiration for fashion and home decor.
And who inspires you?At the moment I am totally obsessed with the model Mica Arganaraz. I just love her androgynous look and style and I almost want to dye my hair dark and cut bangs. Besides her I am in love with Caroline de Maigret and her parisian style. Scandinavians that I adore and follow are Pernille Teisbaek, Elin Kling, Annebel Rosendahl, Marianne Theodorsen, Marie Murstad and of course Celine Aagaard.
Whats a keeper in your wardrobe? One of my wardrobe staples is a high neck sweater. I love a pair of black wide leg pants and also my white Stan Smith sneakers. And in the fall and winter time I love a big wool coat.
What keyitems do you go for this season? My keyitems this season are my Acne Studios light wash "boy" jeans, my vintage Louis Vuitton monogram Noe and I am lusting after a new black wool coat.
Vintage or new buys? When it comes to vintage or new buys I would love to buy more vintage but I am always more likely to buy new. There are no good vintage shops where I live, but I do really like Velouria vintage in Oslo. I once bought a vintage Dior trench there and it is my favorite vintage buy ever.
Any trend forecast for 2016? I do not think I am that good at spotting trends, thats why I always look to others for inspiration. I am hoping that Comme des Garçon sort of white and blue stripes will be a huge trend 2016, because that is something I really like, but besides that I am really blank.
