Diesel Black Gold creative director Andreas Melbostad from Norway, imagined a girl using her boyfriend’s shirt as a dress as starting point for Spring/Summer 2016. By using men’s iconic pieces he wanted to build a wardrobe for strong and confident women.
Leather, lace and denim blue. The collection showed variation with leather conveying masculine attitude, lace for a feminine touch and slouchy straight- legged jeans for a casual look.
The boyfriend shirt was the main attraction but the classic Diesel signature leather jackets were not forgotten. Grommets, studs, metallic appliques and whipstitch details brought out the sharp and edgy look, just what we wanted to see. Celine tells about her impressions from the collection.
– Diesel Black Gold got this rawness that I just love, and yesterdays show was no exception. It’s not a secret that I love black and white and monochrome styling. Diesel Black Gold is one of the brands I’ve been following and seen under New York Fashion Week for the last three seasons. The strongest look was the leather dress, not unexpectedly worn by the it-model Mica.
