Its time to wear your amethyst. Acne Studios launched their amethyst jewellery for Spring summer, and the runway in Paris was purple during Carven aw16.

The greek word amethystos may be translated as not drunken. Amethyst is the traditional birthstone for february. Its a purple variete of quartz, and owes its violet color to irradiation, iron impurities and the presence of trace elements, which result in complex crystal lattice substitutions. The best varieties of amethyst can be found in Siberia, Sri Lanka, Brazil and the Far East.
