MY STYLE: Ayda Heidari

First of all, tell us a little bit about yourself - who are you and what do you do? My name is Ayda Heidari and I am an influencer and instagrammer. I am obsessed with face masks, salty licorice and my favorite color is pink. I am 18 years old and I'm studying economics, my last year at Jensen Gymnasium. My biggest dream is to work in the fashion industry as a stylist and I am going to do anything in my power to make my dream come true! I'm currently working on a lot of exciting projects and will soon be attending Stockholm Fashion Week for my first time ever. I recently worked and was photographed for my biggest collaboration to date, together with Axel Arigato. I live for big dreams and I can't wait to share more pictures of the collaboration!

Your style is unique, What is style to you? Thank you so much! I personally believe that style is a unique way of expressing your personality. Some might argue that they don’t find fashion and trends particularly interesting, but everyone chooses what to express and I find that fascinating. I'd say that my signature style might be that I don’t follow any rules. I can’t get enough of colors and patterns and I like mixing them as I please. The term ‘too much’ does NOT exist in my vocabulary. I like to play with contrasts and combine new items with vintage pieces. Some days I’m minimal and classic, some days I’m more into patterns, others I lean more towards streetstyle or colorful or trend-forward. Just depends on my mood I'd say.

What made you become interested in fashion? Fashion is a way of communicating and showing aesthetic standards. Like art, theatre, music and movies, fashion and style reflect the society and culture, and affect all people in some way, also when not intended. And that's the reason why I became interested in fashion. Fashion is important because it’s a form of self-expression, a passion or as I said, a form of art. For some… It’s how we take what’s inside us and show it to the outside world.
Fashion is a part of who we are, and also an important part of our society.

Where do you Get inspiration from and Do you have any fashion icons? I get most of my inspiration just by walking down the street, while traveling, shopping and most of it while hanging on Instagram. I'm also a big fan of Vogue, as well as fashion shows (I recommend Vogue Runway). I am also a fan of i-D Magazine, Styleby Magazine, Man Repeller and of course Envelope which have made me the happiest girl since I am a fan and also since this is my first ever interview.
I do not have one style icon, they are many but a lot of cool girls which I follow on Instagram are doing a great job with their personal style without overdoing trends nor giving up comfort over fashion. If I had to choose one it would have been Hanna Mw. 

What fashion trend do you hope stays in 2018? Trends inevitably fade away, but almost always return later. In the fast fashion industry where trends go in and out on an everyday basis, I think that it’s important to build a wardrobe that allows you to personalise trends and make them your own.With normcore behind us, and the '70s and '90s back in the style-spotlight, 2017 was a very fun year to get dressed. But all good things (and some bad things) must come to an end, which is why i am ready to say bye to overexposed trends.

What will you wear more of in 2018? ”I always feel comfortable in a printed maxi dress and a pair of sneakers so I'd probably choose that!

What’s next on your shopping list? The next thing on my shopping list is also the one thing on my wishlist that I DREAM of and that I have to save to. It's the "Triple S Trainers" from Balenciaga in the blue, red, yellow, beige and grey tones. the day I own them, I'd be the happiest girl on earth, and that's for sure.

Favorite item in your closet? … Hmmm it's always changing and if I had to choose one I'd choose my pink sequin skirt from H&M which i styled together with mywhite corduroy pants from The Cords & Co and my favorite shiny red sock-boot from ‪Nelly.com‬

Favorite beauty product? For sure H&M's eyeshadows! My current favorite eyeshadow color from H&M's collection is "Desirous".
