First of all, tell us a little bit about yourself. Who are you and what do you do? My name is Maxie Elizabeth, I'm 25 years old and right now I'm doing my Bachelors Degree in Art History and German Language and Literature. Besides my studies I work in a multi brand store and also model sometimes.
What is style to you? Style to me is projection of your personality. It is letting the outside world know who you are and how you are feeling in that exact moment. Just as your personality, your personal style can be multifaceted and differ from day to day, which is why I find sticking to one "style direction" rather limiting and why minimalism for example is not for me.
When did you interest for fashion start? It is hard to pinpoint an exact moment of where my interest in fashion started, but I vividly remember being obsessed with drawing women - respectively the same woman, as my skills were very limited - as a kid and giving them different outfits every time. Just like today it was fascinating to me back then, how different variating outfits made the exact woman appear each time.
Where do you find inspiration? I love to go to art museums, but lately it's mostly been Tumblr or Instagram where I get my inspiration from. I love @deborarosa's Instagram and her Tumblr @fashiiongonerouge. Her way of curating and creating content is just so visually appealing to me. Also Sex and the City will inspire me forever!
What did you last buy and what's next on your shopping list? I just bought a pair for Céline Aviators I've been lusting after from Vestiaire. Regarding what's next on my shopping list it's hard to say, there's just so many beautiful things and I struggle with retaining myself. But I might have found the perfect oatmeal cashmere coat from Joseph, and as it is very on trend right now but yet so timeless, I think I might have to splurge on it next.
What's your best shopping tip for others? Don't rush yourself into buying, eventuallt they're just material items and there's much more important things to life. Also try shopping at places like Vestiaire, The Real Real, etc. and secondhand/vintage shops more often. First you can make a good bargain there and also find pieces that are sold out everywhere else, but also and maybe even more important, it's much better for our environment as the fashion industry takes quite a large stand in damaging the global environment
What's your go-to outfit for a night out? As I said before it really depends on my mood that night, but you can never go wrong with a beautiful slip dress and a statement shoe!
