During Fashion Week we have had focus on vintage in collaboration with Vestiaire.
Four Iconic pieces have been styled during the week, and item number two was this Vintage Chanel Breton top. The iconic longsleeve and all the other items in the trunk can be yours if you follow Vestiaire.
The breton top was introduced in 1858 as the uniform for the French Navy. Coco Chanel visited the French coast and was so inspired by the sailors uniform that she included the stripes in her 1917 nautical collection. Chanel adopted elements of men's workwear into women’s fashion and had elevated Jersey fabric from basic to high fashion. In 1932 the breton was featured on the cover of French Vogue, forever marking its place in fashion.
