When did you get your first camera, and what kind of camera was that? I think I got my first camera when I was about 11, but I never thought of it as anything you could do for a living (not that I’m living of doing photography as we speak). I think it was a Canon that I got for Christmas.

How did your interest of photography start? It wasn’t until I finished my bachelors on graphic design that I found photography. I was reading these blogs and I though that if these guys could do it, so could I. So I bought a Nikon D90 and applied to Bilder Nordic in 2011 without even knowing the difference between aperture and shutter. My story of how I came into photography isn’t a romantic one. I just had no clue of what to do with my life so I tried it out and ended up loving it. All thanks to Norsk Fotofagskole where I learned everything I know.

Where does the fascination for shooting fashion come from? I love shooting people. I used to shoot a lot of naked people, but it’s easier to get it published if they wear clothes. Plus, I love stylish people, but for me it doesn’t have to be fashion. As long as I can take pictures I’m ok. Honestly, I feel like I finally found the one thing I can do well and I love doing it, so if I have to work other jobs just to get the money and time to take pictures, I will.

What was the first picture you got published and where? It was from a fashion shoot we did in conjunction with a school trip to Morocco. The photo was published in Portal Trondheim.

What makes a great photo? A lot of things. Sometimes it’s enough that it is aesthetically well done, but to me, a great photo has conflict and makes you feel something.

And what makes not. For me, personally, I don’t like stuff you’ve seen a thousand times before. Pretty people in pretty light with pretty makeup. It just doe not work for me, and with the risk of speaking for others; I think a lot of people are ready for something fresh and provocative. But hey, I might hate something you love.

Any personal favorites to photograph right now? Anyone willing. if so

In what way do you think Norwegian People are interesting? The diversity. Plus I think a lot of Norwegians have thought things through and knows who they are and that fascinates me.

What is style for you? Individuality. Having the guts to wear whatever you want if it makes you comfortable.

Whats your highlight in your carrier so far? That is a tough question. I feel like I’m still waiting for it, but to get asked to shoot for Fretex was pretty cool. I still feel like I’m waiting for my break or at least to get people to know who I am.

What do you look for in a good picture? If I’m jealous that I didn’t take it myself, which I often am, it’s a great one.

What inspires you the most? Other photographers, music, movies,
