DIY - Shirt with bell sleeves

Sleeves is a big thing this summer, seen on the catwalk at Derek Lam and  in the street. We wanted to make our own version of it, and we will show you how to do it. All you need is an old shirt, ribbon, some fabric with stretch so it does not fray, a needle and a scissor.

What you need before you can start on your DIY project.

First you have to cut off the bottom part of the sleeves. And then fold the edge two times so the shirt does not fray, then iron it.

Cut out a rectangle in the fabric, were the longest part is the length around the sleeve. Measure up how long you want the shorter part. Pin the fabric on the shirt.

Now it is time to sew. Thread the ribbon on the needle. We used three cm between the stiches. NOTE: sew on the folded edge, so you secure the edge.

You maybe have to cut some of the fabric off if it is too long.  Knot the the ends of the ribbons in a bow, and you have now a hole new shirt ready for the summer.
